When the band were recording drums and bass for the EP in moeraki, a grey mouse was scurrying around, and later the same day a large beetle flew through the window and terrorized the band.

At the end of the sessions, the band invited John Adams (drummer from The Du Cats Kit) to the house for some drinks. After a few too many, the band wrote the song in about fifteen minutes, and with the mics still set up, recorded it in two takes, with John guesting as the drummer. The whole song is recorded live except for the backing vocals at the end.

Rachel was also supposed to sing the main lyric but we forgot to add that in the end
